It has taken about a year and a lot of time working with several different fish feed manufacturers....but we finally got it done - Yeah, a healthy Tilapia feed that is Soy Free, GMO Free and it FLOATS! Ing: fish meal, fish oil, wheat middlings
You may wonder why floating is so important...if the feed sinks or disintegrates, the Tilapia cannot eat it, then the particulates dump into your aquaponic system and pile up, those go toxic and kill your fish - bad plan for sure!
We went to the top of the line Tilapia Feed Manufacturer in the continental USA and asked their nutritionist to formulate for us and now the feed is ready. To sweeten the deal, the producer has a Texas plant and now that we have completed the first phase, the Texas location can produce for everyone that wants an healthy Tilapia food - Good job!

Any Farmer's out there that need to know about their local NRCS offices? There are grants for New, Young and old Farmer's too.
There are loads of great programs in each county of Texas with 100% grants to help you get started or keep going. The NRCS High Tunnel program is really great - we know because we signed up last year and have our house up and planted with bell peppers, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Next we will plant with Tropical Fruit Trees for growing tropical fruit in Central Texas.
